3 horse power independent crank engine, with 11 5/8 inch cylinder, 20 inch stroke, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod. Engine later sold to the Duke of Devonshire.

Plan, cross-section and side view of the engine - reverse drawing.
Also plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses for the Duke of Devonshire - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings. All the drawings bear a letter code.

For Joseph Clarke & Sons. Hope Mills, Manchester. The engine was sold to the Duke of Devonshire, who used it to power a saw mill.
