Single-acting engine, with 36 inch cylinder, 7 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam.

Reverse plan of the engine and boilers and pump, plan of the tunnel, small plan of the end of the boiler house, sections of the engine house and boiler and pump; working gear - partially coloured reverse front and side views; sketches of air pump and condenser, pump rods etc. with notes by Abraham Storey and William Creighton about the bucket pattern attached, sketches of the steam pipes, bucket and rod, balance weights etc. - these small sketches were sent to the Foundry; sheet of notes and calculations on the pump; letter from Samuel Hodgkinson to William Creighton dated Saty Bridge, 29 Jan. 1812.
Also coloured reverse drawing of cylinder and steam case, 16 Dec. 1841. The reverse drawings bear letter codes.

For the Birmingham Canal Co. Ashted, Birmingham. For pumping water up the six locks in the Ashted district, on the Digbeth branch of the Birmingham Canal. The engine worked until 1922, and was sold to Henry Ford in 1928. It still exists in the Ford Museum, Dearborn, USA.
