Originally the "Steam Boat Drafts" portfolio consisted of the draft drawings of vessels made in the London office and sent to Soho. Other large boat drawings, such as those of the dredging boats and the Admiralty tracings, were added later. Not all the boats illustrated were fitted with Boulton Watt & Co. / James Watt & Co. engines, some were presumably made during the tendering process. The drawing have been placed in chronological order, and reference is made to the portfolios containing the drawings of their engines.
