DescriptionOn John Watt's death in 1737, his brother James Watt of Greenock appears to have acted as executor and the following papers concerning this activity exist: two receipts for house rent (1720 - 1721 and 1736); one receipt for silver rent (1732); one receipt from his sister for money owed from her father's legacy (1734); a statement of account between John and James Watt (1734); a receipt for a wig etc. (1738); an account of John Watt with John Wardrop, writer, for libel proceedings, paid in 1737; and accounts of James Watt of Greenock with William Wilson of Edinburgh, writer, for legal proceedings against Lord Hamilton for money owed to John Watt sr. at his death (for surveying ?), 1744.
