The top letter in the packet has '1785 to 1789' written on it in pencil The letters were arranged in chronological order with the most recent first. They have now been arranged in chronological order with the earliest first and renumbered. There is a conspectus of old and new numbers at the end of the list. The letters have a docket by James Watt with the name of the correspondent and the date, but none have a summary. This has been provided by the cataloguer, in square brackets. |
