| Description | Bundle of thirty-nine letters and one bill to James Watt, from various correspondents, 1787- 1792. There is a bundle label, written in red ink, as follows: ' Letters from Mr Roebuck, Mr Skeys and others to Mr Watt. 1790 - 1792. No. 1 to 39.' The letters are numbered in red ink. There are three unnumbered paper enclosures. The letters were arranged in approximately chronological order with the most recent letter first. They have now been placed in chronological orderbeginning with the earliest, and renumbered There is a conspectus of old and new numbers at the end of the list. The letters have a docket written by James Watt with the name of the correspondent and the date, and some have a very brief summary. Any summary in square brackets has been provided by the cataloguer. |
