There are four unnumbered paper enclosures.
The letter numbered 1 (old no.) has '1793 to 1794' written on it in pencil.
The letters were arranged in approximately chronological order with the most recent first.
They have now been placed in chronological order beginning with the earliest, and renumbered.
There is a conspectus of old and new numbers at the end of the list.
The letters have a docket by James Watt with the name of the correspondent and the date, and some have a very brief summary.
