Description[Mr de Luc is about to publish on heat. Urges Dr. Black to publish his discoveries through him. Otherwise he must himself publish his claims. Annoyed by plagiarists of his improvements of the steam engine. Mr de Luc is just returned from Paris and states that Lavoisier is at work on the subject of heat. Dr. Priestley’s experiments on turning water into air. His own preconceived notions upon that subject 'We have been so beset with plagiaries that if I had not a very good memory of my doing it their impudent assertions would lead me to doubt whether I was the author of an improvement on the steam engine..'].
