3 May 1816. Wish for Mr Ferrier's acc[oun]ts as I am going from home & will be absent some time. Am sorry I had not Mr Newton for tenant in Stonehouse, but did not like to entice him away from Bach. Shall write to Wishlade about disposal of timber at Badland. Leave allowances to tenants to him. Desire him to urge completion of exchange with Rogers. Am sorry he cannot pay us a visit at present. Fine weather.
21 May 1816. Am glad he has settled with Mr Rogers. I return Ferrier's books. Directions how I wish them to be kept in future. Am not satisfied with the method in which he states the ballance [sic]. My statement of it. Corn crops disadvantageous upon that farm. We set out for London about the end of the week.
July [1816]. On our return from London. Will be at home for 3 weeks, in which time should be glad to receive his visit here.
