| Description | Bundle of 100 letters and papers, mostly from James Davies and James Crummer to James Watt,1809-1810, and copy press letters from Watt to Crummer and others, and other papers relevant to the Welsh and Wyeside estates.
These were originally enclosed in a portfolio of cloth, card and marbled paper, labelled on the spine: ‘ Welsh 1809 - 10 ’ and on the front, ‘ Welsh 1809 - 10’.
The papers were arranged in chronological order and this has been retained. They were not numbered. Most letters have a docket by James Watt giving the correspondent and date and sometimes a summary of the subject of the letter. On some of the letters, James Watt jr. has expanded the information given by his father on the docket.
