29 March 1815. To James Crummer: Uncertain state of farming has prevented coming to any resolution about letting Stonehouse etc. Therefore must go on for another year. Ill will about the corn bill & taxes upon trade. Have delayed deputation for Manor until we know whether we are likely to get Badland. delay resolving about new Stable at Badland until my son's return. Query as to prices of timber etc. L[or] O[xford]'s agents say that they will pay the arrears of interest.
26 April 1815. To James Crummer: Am sorry to hear of Mr Davies' illness. Query if Mr Ferrier has made any payment for Stonehouse. Desire to have accounts. Complaints in Scotland of bad weather. Query who bought Ednal. Thank him for acc[oun]t of sale of ?Penlamole. Am glad to hear that Mr Webb is improving his farm. Q[uer]y as to Mr Newton's health. It will be necessary to quarry stones for a new stable. Query prices of timber etc. J. Miller sailed for Madeira Ap[ri]l 3rd.
