| Description | There are seven printed sheets of song lyrics, which had once been folded into a small bundle, with a wrapper on which is a docket written by James Watt jr. together with a pen and ink drawing, possibly of machinery on the reverse. The songs have the following titles:
The trumpet of liberty The brave English jury Three times three O'er the vine-cover'd hills Glee The birth- day of liberty Unfold, Father Time
These might be the songs referred to in the letter to James Watt jr. from C. Este, (London), 6 November [1796], which mentions that he will give James Watt jr. the printed songs at Saturday's dinner. [see MS 3219/6/2/E14] |
