| Description | On the cover of the volume is written: 'Containing Translation of the 1st. book of Homer’s Iliad & Society Speeches. 1795'. The translation from the Iliad occupies about half the volume (26 numbered pages). There are then three speeches, each divided by a title page. Before the first is written 'Speech in the Discursive Society on the prejudice which the Crusades were of to Europe'. Dec. 1794. Before the second is : 'Pleaders Speech. In favour of Martial Monarchs. 1795.' Before the third is : 'Pleaders Speech. Against Virginius. 1795.' |
