TitleMemoranda from Soho to Birmingham: January to March 1777
LevelSeries
DateJanuary 1777 - March 1777
DescriptionThese are memoranda sent by various clerks at Soho Manufactory to Zaccheus Walker at the Birmingham Warehouse.

The memoranda are from the period between 18 Jan. and 17 Mar. 1777, and were evidently preserved together. Of these, most are either memoranda by John Hodges accompanying parcels for dispatch, or memoranda from James Pearson requesting Walker to advise Matthews & Barton of bills drawn on that firm. The latter are usually marked as having been entered by Walker in the Birmingham Books, and the bills referred to are mostly for the payment of Soho employees. There are also a few oddities, such as the transcript of two bills of exchange, 7 and 8 Feb., the anonymous Letter of 7 Mar., and the Letter from Mr. Green, 10 Mar.

At the time of listing this file was substantially intact, but a few items apparently extracted by the Assay Master have now been restored. The documents are arranged in chronological order.
