Description'Copper 1780.' (This item is a small hardback notebook with a green cover. On the cover is written the preceding inscription. The item is made up of notes and observations as well as accounts and lists of names and addresses. The notes are on subjects such as; 'A crude plan for making 200 Tons of brass per year at Birmingham' and 'The Copper Trade.' At the beginning of the notebook there are hand drawn tables for recording and comparing engine calculations as well as a table headed , 'The underneath is an account of the numbers of tons of copper sold in Cornwall in the following years.' Enclosed within the notebook are four items. The first is a newspaper cutting of an article relating to Cornish mining. The second is a sketch, possibly a furnace. The last two items are both hand drawn tables containing calculations and information about the copper business.)
