Description'Drawings of Mills and Rotative Motions. 1782.' (This item is a large hardback notebook. On the cover is written the preceding inscription. The notebook is made up of detailed mechanical drawings of mills and engines, drawn on separate sheets and stuck into the notebook, as well as rough sketches made on the original pages of the book. The first five drawings are numbered one to five and all represent James Watt’s patent for rotating........ The remaining drawings are individually dated and were all drawn in July 1782. The notebook also contains a page of notes headed 'Canals' and is accompanied by a sketch of a boat fitted with rollers in order to flatten the canal bed.)
