| Description | 'January 1784.' (This item is a small hardback notebook with a green cover. On the cover is written the preceding inscription. The notebook contains observations, calculations and diagrams related to engines and mining. The notebook contains pages of notes such as; 'Difference between Newcastle and London', 'Experiments on Mrs Proctors flour mill at Invergourie 1782.' and 'Montgolfiers Balloon.' Enclosed in the notebook are two items. The first is an account with a list of names followed by amounts. The second item is an account of personal expenditure for Matthew Boulton in August and September 1784. The account records the cost of items such as; 'Hair powder' , 'Nutmeggs' and 'Two tongues.') |
