Description(In French. It is not entirely clear whether this is one letter or two.)
[I received your letter the day your son came to see me and his friends at Eisenach, and, believe me, not to see a certain person, whom he now dislikes. My wife has five sons and I have one. My wife’s boys are to be in trade She has resumed her affair with the footman: I assure you you have nothing to fear. I do not think he is indolent: he has of late written me two letters in German, which are not only good, but indeed have a certain elegance.]
