Dear Father
According to your wish, I now with pleasure inform you that I arrived at Stoke on Monday in perfect health. I had a very pleasant journey as the weather was very fine. The day after I arrived in London I call[ed] at the Albion mill where I met with Mr Renny who shew’d me every thing, I was much pleased with it, I also dined at Mr Vere on Sunday when I made your excuses to Mrs Vere for not sending her Lamp & she thought your reason was a very sufficient one. she desired me to give her compliments to you & wishes you would come to town that she might get a sight of the Albion mill. Mr Motteux’s family were all gone out of Town so that I did [not] see them. I had taken my place for Saturd[ay] in the Colchester Coach & I came to the Inn precisely at 7 oClock by Matthew’s Clock but they said the coach had been set of nearly a quarter of an hour so I was obliged to lose both my place and money and continue in town till Monday morning when I set of for Stoke at 7 oClock and [got] there about 4 oClock the same day.—I received your letter in due time with Mr Parlbys therein inclosed which I deliver’d to him when I arrived at Stoke & suppose you have received his answer before this.
Mr & Mrs Parlby desire their respectfull to you &
I remain
