| Description | Knil July 26 1785. Dear Father I should have wrote to you before but as I knew it would give you satisfaction to hear that I got safe to Knil I delayed it till the present. We did not set out till Sunday 24 Inst as Mr G— had some buissiness which detained him; we had a very pleasant journey and arrived at Knil that night about seven oClock. Mr John Garbett went from Birmingham the Thursday before because he went by Hereford to bring his Sisters with him. He has been rather ill for the 2 first days but is now perfectly recover’d. I shall not have the pleasure of meeting Mr Deans in town as I did not get Mr Greens letter time enough so that I shall now stay here till Saturday or Sunday when I shall go to Birmingham and there stay a day or two pack up my things from whence I shall go directly to Stoke. I left My Sister & Miss Mynd well but I suppose you will have [heard] from them before. Mr Garbett & Mr John desire their Compliments to you. Pray remember me to all Cornish friends. I remain Dear Father Your dutifull Son, Mattw R Boulton Pray excuse all mistakes as dinner is ready.
