| Description | Dear Father, I receiv’d your letter in due time and am glad to find you have gain’d your point in settling the copper trade to your mind. I have been at Stoke about three weeks; I left Knill the Saturday after I wrote to you, but my sister was set of for Leicester before I got to Soho, so that I had not an opportunety of seeing her to take my farewell. Mr. Parlby’s lamp not beeing finish’d, I was detain’d at Soho a day or two, but I got to London the same week, where I staid till the Monday, as there was no stage on the Sunday, or I should have gone in it, as I know you was very desirous I should get to Stoke. Mr. P. is very much pleased with his lamp, which burns very well. I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Deane and Mr. G. desire their respectful compliments and were sorry you could not make Bath in your way. I took Dr. Priestly’s chart with me, but not having a good explanation I do not perfectly understand it. I should be much obliged to you if you would send me the book which is sold with it, and also his biographycal chart, as I could not find yours any were. If Z.
