| Description | (Dated Tuesday morning.) Dear Friend, I pray you will be so good as to acquaint Mr. Barker that in the course of next month I shall have stated such things at Edinburgh as I know to be immediately essential to the interest of my creditors to the extent of more than fifty thousand pounds, and that it is material for my creditors that I should see Carron Company's Balance Account at the 31 December last, which I don't doubt they will settle in March and send me in April as they always have done. I shall then be fully prepared to take the sense of a general meeting of my creditors and which I will then desire in London, I hope in the beginning of May, and I doubt not acquit myself to their satisfaction and my own honor. I am ever affectionately and gratefully your friend, Samuel Garbett [Edited transcript.] |
