| Description | London Novem. 17. 1795 Mattw. Boulton Esq My Dear Sir I hope to nights Parcel will bring me the agreeable Intelligence that you are coming very speedily to pay me a Visit-I have expected & been ready for you some time-my present reason for writing is to say there is a comely fat handsome Woman to be disposed of as Housekeeper-She has proper Idea's of setting off a Table & looks as if she cou'd take the part of a Nurse upon occasion (I hope most sincerely she may not have to shew off her Abilities in the last discription)-and appears to a young friend of yours as if made for your particular Use; she lived 14 Years with Mr. Mills of Yorkshire & seven with Mr. Robert Knipe (a great Epicure) and only quits the last Place because the Gentn. & his Lady are separated.-You will understand that it is the family of the Fothergills (much more skilfull than myself in such Affairs) that have found this good Woman out for you-I have not seen her-but they told her you wou'd be in town in about a fortnight (from the 13th.) and she is willing to wait that time that you may see her yourself. I hope your Elbow is got well and that you have lost all your Complaints & that I shall see you very shortly in as good Health & Spirits as I wish you to enjoy-till then adieu and be assured I am always Dr Sir Your most affectionate friend C Matthews |
