LevelItem
Date9 September 1794
DescriptionDear Sir,
I wrote to you on Friday last with account of a housekeeper without a name. I have since learn'd it is Wood, and have further to inform you that Mr. Hungerford, with whom she says she lived five years, is a very respectable gentleman and Mrs. Vere is well acquainted with him and thinks that if she suited him she will stand a good chance of suiting you also.
Mr. Watt writes me that you are to stay out your fortnight at Cheltenham, upon the strength of which I shall direct this thither. I most sincerely hope you will receive benefit from the excursion, and, anxiously wishing to hear from you, I remain, with kindest regards to Miss Boulton, dear sir, your most affectionate friend,
C. Matthews
Upon revision of Mr. Walker's letters, I see your fortnight expires to morrow; I shall not, therefore, hazard it to Cheltenham.
