Description(2 pcs.)

My dear Madam,
The delay causd by unforeseen misfortunes in the outset of the coining I perceive by your statement is likely to inconvenience us both. As to any money I can raise independant of the coinage will be trifling, and therefore my push must be to get as much coin put into circulation as [soon as ] possible; and in order that you may see what passes I send my letter to Mr. Long through your hands, requesting you will read, seal, and send it by Mr. Woodward on Saturday morning, whom I shall have occasion to trouble on various business in the course of the coinage, which please to assure him I will satisfy him for.
For want of the warrant which Mr. White should have deliver'd long ago I had quite forgot that I was to deliver 50 ton to Goverment of the first coin'd, but Mr. Sage shew'd me a copy of it this morning, and, as you'l see by my letter to Mr. Long, I shall deliver the remainder of it to Mr. Sage on this day sevenight, which will entitle me to 7500£; and if Mr. Woodward finds that the Treasury is not likely to pay for it all, he had better take 20 or 30 ton of it to be issued from your house and Chipindale's; but if they take it all, I will send the week following 20 ton more for you (NB. it is a fortnight at least on the road), unless I am at the expence of land carriage from Oxford.
Suppose I could borrow 2 or 3000£ of Hart in his draughts on William's house; could you get them discounted? Pray continue to apply to White for the warrant, and write me all your thoughts how to raise the necessary supplys, for I am much hurry'd in mind and body.
Please to present my compliments to Mr. Jeyes, the principal teller of the Bank of England, and beg his acceptance of two specimens which I send him by desire of Mr. Sage of the Mint (he may be of use to you and me).
I hope my house will be cover'd in by Saturday night and then I shall be in the same state I was in two years ago, and consequently can take you all in, if you'l excuse a flutter'd house; but I fear in September the beauty of the country will be upon the decline, therefore say the end of August.
Time will not allow me to say more than my love to all my intended visitors.
God bless you.
M. B.
