DescriptionMy dear Sir,
I received your kind favor of the 9th on Saturday, but having wrote to you on the Friday evening I had nothing material to add.
I am much rejoiced to hear that I shall so soon see you. Your bed is aired, and every thing shall be as comfortable as I can make it. We are engaged to the christening next Sunday, but shall be in town on Monday and shall hope to find you safely landed at your old quarters and in good health and spirits, notwithstanding all the vexations you have undergone.
Since writing the above, I have yours of the 13th. I am sorry your visit is a little delayed, but hope we shall see you early in next week, tho' not the first day of the week.
Thank you kindly for the dog, which we are very impatient to receive.
I will myself deliver the parcel to Mr. Dumergue as I am going to him to-morrow morning with Patty Fothergill.
Adieu. I am always most affectionately yours,
C. Matthews
You refer me to the Birmingham paper, but have not sent one. I therefore await your promise of writing per next box.
