TitleLetter. Charlotte Matthews (London) to Matthew Boulton (Soho).
LevelItem
Date29 December 1797
DescriptionMy dear Sir,
It is so long since I have heard of you that I can not help asking you how you do, and whether your household is again arranged. Your mentioning that you were in treaty with a housekeeper put me off the scent, but if you were disappointed of her please say so and I shall renew my enquiries.
We have not received one single cask of coin save the first of December, by your advices. There shou'd be six shipments on the water now, including those you have advised per this night's parcel.
Poor Mrs. Stewart continues very ill yet.
Give my love to your daughter, and believe me, dear sir, most affectionately yours,
C. Matthews
Herewith a parcel which Mr. Weston deliver'd to me for you.
