Dr Sir
I am sorry it so happens that I am obliged to go as far as Glasgow, it is under the name of a pleasure jaunt; but the fact is business that I cannot with any propriety avoid; I wish to go some day next week and if you can with any sort of conveniency settle the heads of a plan for the Button Co. before I go it wou'd add much to my happiness as well as my friends. I really beleive an hour or two wou'd settle every thing to satisfaction; you know my present ideas and so soon as I know in what you acquiesce and what you disaprove I flatter myself I shall not be backward in bringing my sentiments to coincide with yours. The Button inventory will be finishd in a Day or two.
Yours Sincerely
Jno: Scale
PS I only rec'd a letter this morning to confirm my journey. The Business I am going upon is of no consequence either to you or me respecting the trade at Soho only my absence for the time I shall be out which will be about 3 or 4 weeks.
