9 old Crumpton had better go till we want more steel which may be 9 or 12 months.
10 Carless's Brother one Carpenter is enough as we can have Boxes from Birmm.

In my opinion it wou'd be prudent to part with all the above, soon as possible not to make a noise, for I think it inpossible for you to have any pleasure in business till you have intirely rooted out this old cursed canker worm, I was amazed to see this morning 1900 or near £2000 in Mr F Book due this week and only the £300 sent last night towards it, all the rest I fear will be left to you, how you are situated I know not, but I am much concernd at the general situation, for I fear you will not be able to manage all that will be left to you, & I also fear we shall not answer your expectation here. when Mr F shew'd his book, there was company by, so that I did not ask his plan nor have I seen him since, but he said you were in London & hoped you woud do something from which I concluded it is [entire]ly left to you to make up all difficiencies. I think it in your power (by reducing your payments to £150 per week and œconomy) to rout out the canker worm in 6 or 9 months; then if the remedy is so easy why will you remain tottering upon such trembling boggs where no rest or quiet is to be found.
