Dear Sir
By letter to day from Cornwall Matters do not mend under Dudleys care-I therefore if something be not very bad in London wish you would employ Hadley to finish these engines and visit them as I yesterday proposed and send Joseph here to receive his instructions and to proceed to Cornwall otherwise Dudley will ruin us
My mind is so full of this subject can add nothing more but that I am going out to the navigation engine this afternoon as it is near ready
May God grant us fortitude to bear our vexations which are too numerous at present
Dear Sir ever your's James Watt
have no uneasiness the Engines are going but in bad order and burning too many coals, the air leaks cured and Water leaks broke out, Beast of Beasts!
[Address-label:] Mr Boulton / at Mr Wm Mathews's / London
