| Description | London. Novr. 3d. 1791. Hond. Uncle, From Illness and from having little Information to give has Causd so long a Silence on my part. At present can only say the Bakers Debts have come in better than Expectation and those that remain unpaid (except the known bad ones) will be paid some time but cannot say Exactly when as their only means of payment is by what they may save or from Additional Credit with their flour Sellers. The Account altogether will be very indifferent as from the very heavy deficiency from Errors and allowances &c not being wrote off, also from the decrease in Value of Sacks in Country together with heavy Expences of Int. Wages Buildings &c still going on witht anything to place against it Except Profits on Coal Trade which cannot be a very large sum, The Hog Accot. also being a very unprofitable one and which we still continue but for what purpose I know not unless 'tis to eat the offal which may be disposed of to more advantage than Our Hogs Eating as I am pretty Confident the Expence of Wages, Deaths and Rent will come to as much as the Extra Sale from the Purchase Money. The Mill is not finally disposd of as yet but understand it is very possible that twill be soon Settled tho' from a late Accident of the Fire & Redriffe having provided a large Quantity of Ground also from Several Craft being Sunk coming through London bridge there has been some impediments towards the Concluding that Business.-Having at present a good deal of leisure shall be very happy if I can employ it in rendering you any services in Town; if you should have any Occasion for business in Town depend on it every attention in my Power shall be paid; At present know t not how long I may remain here, but suppose twill be Lady Day ere my final leave as I am confident from the Situation of things nobody else can understand them and many are scarcely able to explain at all. Please give my Love to all your fire Side and believe me no-one more sincerely wishes every Good to yourself & family than your obliged and dutiful Nephew Geoe Mynd |
