| Description | Dear Friend, I have a comfortable satisfaction in sending you with this a state of Carron Company's affairs, containing comparisons between the years 1790, when Mr. Hog offered to that Company shares of stock at £175 each, which were nominally £250, and now he offers them to the Company at 135 per cent. on the 250£. In a few posts I shall send a copy of these states to Mr. Hog. Last post I received from Carron Co. an account stating
£ s. d. their undivi[d]ed profits 67,084 8. 3 and undivided shares 10,000 . at the 30th June last £77,084 8. 3
But I shall not make the addition in my advertisement, nor remark that the 40 undivided shares are worth more than 10,000£, vizt. £250 each. I am ever gratefully yours, Samuel Garbett With the letter is the following:
