| Description | Dear Friend, At a meeting of my creditors at Edinburgh on the 27th May, the following entry was made: 'They advise the creditors to seek the aid of Mr. Boulton, the assignee under the commission of bankruptcy, in resisting the arrestments used by Mr. Selkrig and Messrs. Gibson and Balfour.' I received the enclosed the 15th of last month, but as the committee had proceeded in their own names I did not apprehend it absolutely necessary to have your authority, but by this post I receive a letter from my friend Mr. Campbell (the advocate) desiring me to send it immediately. Pray be so good as to copy the authority here sent, and to add your name, and if it is not very inconvenient I should be glad of it by the bearer, as I am uneasy about this appearance of my neglect and am afraid of the consequence that may have been occasioned by my delay. I am ever gratefully and affectionately yours, Samuel Garbett |
