Description[Dated Monday evening.]

Dear Friend,
Your affectionate attention to [me ] is one of the best blessings of my life and will be among the last cordials I may be capable of relishing.
I breakfast of new milk (and bread), to which I put a little hot water merely to prevent its being too cold; the milk is not boiled and the bread not toasted.
In the day time I don't suffer any inconvenience from an inclination to make water, and what I make when sleeping I manage by towels to prevent it wetting the bed.
I am to have a consultation with Doctor Carmichael and Doctor Bree this evening, but I shall be very cautious of swallowing any medicines.
I hope to have the satisfaction of seeing the exertions I have made to protect the property of my creditors plainly settled; and I determine to endeavour to have two new assignees, and all the transactions of the last assignees, which they relyed upon me for conducting properly a finally clos[e].
God bless you. I am ever gratefully and affectionately your
Samuel Garbett
Excuse my writing this clean, as the doctors are coming.
