Dear Friend,
With this I send a letter from Mr. Elphinstone and from Mr. Gascoigne, and also copy of a letter I received from Mr. Henderson, dated the 6th June, and of my answer the 14th, which Mr. Henderson has not acknowledged. I also send copy of a letter I wrote to Mr. Gascoigne the 2d March, and his answer the 6th April, and my reply the 31 May. I wish you to return these to morrow morning by bearer, as I shall send copies to Mr. Elphinstone. You will observe my letter to Mr. Henderson of the 14th June was before Mr. Elphinstone wrote to you.
I last week wrote to Mr. Nicholls my desire to have a meeting of creditors to appoint an assignee or assignees in the room of Mr. Baxter, and have been daily expecting an answer.
Several things combine that occasions my wrting in hurry.
