The contents of this file were formerly in a portfolio entitled:
cA5 General Correspondce M 1787 to 1818
This is the title recorded in the Inventory compiled by the Assay Office in 1921, but unfortunately the portfolio was subsequently discarded. Within the portfolio, the documents were arranged in two chronological sequences, as follows:

Copies. (115-142)
The Copies would have been contained in a yellow paper wrapper, but this does not survive. Under M. R. Boulton’s scheme of arrangement the file was placed in Box M. III.
In the following list, the copy documents are all press-copies, unless stated otherwise; the summaries in quotation-marks are taken from the contemporary dockets.
