Description(Dated 12 Jul. in error. Directed to the Rev. Mr. Reinhard's.)

My dear Son,
I wrote to you the 30 July, since which I am without any news from you, or of you, except what I hear by second or third hand at Birmingham, which is of such a nature as makes me too uneasy to sleep or retain my health. I have therefore determin'd to send Mr. Collins to see you and to accompany you home, as, in your present weak state of health, you may stand in need of the assistance and the contribution of a friend upon so long a journey.
If your disorder is a regular intermitting fever, I think the journey by land and the voyage by sea will do you more good than all the medecines in the world, but I would have you to travil on the well days and lye by on the fever days. I have requested Dr. Sultzer to attend you in case of need; I therefore beg you will consult with him frankly upon your complaints, and follow his advice, which I hope will not require you to take much physick. I beg of you to set out homeward as soon as you are able, and I have no doubt but the journey will do you good.
I have sent Doctor Sultzer a few half pence, as you requested, and a piece of christalized white lead ore.
Mr. Collins is impatient to set out, which prevents me from saying much more than to give you my blessing, and to offer up my prayers for your speedy and perminant recovery, as well as for a safe and expeditious journey home, remaining ever, my dear Matt, your very affectionate father,
Mattw. Boulton
Your sister sends her love and best wishes for your health and safe journey.
