| Description | "Directions to Mr. Küchler for the half-pie die."
Bath, February 21st, 1809. Sir, I recieved in course your letter of the 18th instant and subjoined are my remarks upon the impression from the half pie die, which you will please to hand to Mr. Kuckler, and when the die has been altered conformably I should wish to have an impression from it. Let, however, the seals be finished out of hand previously. I am, sir, your obedient servant, M. Robn. Boulton
For Mr. Kuckler. The wreath or band upon which the lion is supported has a twist up at the ends in the die which is not in the drawing. The twisting of the wreath or band is not so well represented in the die, having more the appearance of pearls. In the drawing this effect is more distinctly delineated. I wish therefore the die to be corrected in these respects and to be made to conform to the drawing. The figure 9 of the date is placed too low-1809 is 1809 should be. Mr. William Cheshire.
