Description[Ordering 15 reflector plates. ‘As we have had much trouble in bringing the Reflectors to a proper surface from evident defects in the mode of Rolling the plates I must beg that whatever should be the consequence you will adopt some method for making the sheets more perfect in the surface. With a view to facilitate this and that the fault I complain of may be minutely pointed out to your workmen I have directed the Superintendent Light Keeper and the Clerk of Works for this Service who are both now in London to return here by way of Soho with instructions to attend to this piece of business which is of so much consequence to the Lighthouse service. Mr Murdoch the former of these Gentlemen has been an operative Reflector Maker and is therefore able to say what the defects are that we wish to get the better of.’]
