Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Meeting that the present high & rapidly increasing Price of Copper is a Subject of serious Alarm to the Manufacturing & Mercantile Interest of this Town & Neighbourhood & is a Matter of the greatest Moment to the Welfare thereof. We recommend that this Subject be taken into immediate Consideration by this Society & that a Committee be appointed at the next Meeting to investigate the Same. And it is accordingly adjourned to Friday Morning next the 22d inst at Eleven O’Clock. Friday 15th Feby 1799 Resolved farther that Mr Villers & Mr Simcox be requested to attend.
