I dined to day at Mr Jeffrys where I found a Letter from Mr Fothergill wch. was more reviveing to me than more than I can express & though you were so kind as to dream of me yet I can assure you I have not broke my next out of a high Tree but am quite sound wind & Lims nor can I interprate your dream any otherwise than by telling you as I was going up Snow Hill this morning I mett two poor weeping Penitants in a Cart wth. halters round their necks a going to mount ye triple Tree—I calld of Mrs. Brown this Evening (for the first time) & eer I had sat down 5 Minutes the Maid came in & Cryd Fire wch. however proved to be ye 7 Star Alehous in Eagle Street by ye Hay market & a Noble Sight it was the Flames bellowing at every window in the House nor could any Water be had untill the House was Burnt but at length a water pipe was oppend & then the Engeons soon Stoped its progress—The House of Commons are so intent upon settleing the Bounds of their privilege that they did not break up untill 7 o Clock this morning—& this is all this days news I can think of at present— since my return this Eveng. to my Inn I find my Self favourd wth. a letter from Coz Kitty wch. serves as a further Confermation of ye good news Mr Fothergill wrote me wch. of all things makes me most happy—you need not remind me of Tea &c: I shall forgett nothing that relates to my Love nor should I know how extatically I Love her was it not for these abscences I beg you will make my kind Compliments to Your Scribe & believe me to be
