‘ M’r John Woodward
Dear Sir,
M’r Boulton wrote to you by this Day’s Post, inclosing a Letter to M’r Loggen, both of which were the Effect of an Oversight. Mr Boulton had, it now appears, two Bundles of Parchments relating to the same Subject & not finding in the one he was overhauling the Bond &ca in Question he, rather too hastily, concluded they had not been sent, forgetting the Circumstance of having another Bundle in his Drawr & that the one he had been looking over was not that which last came from London.
Mr B therefore requests that you will clear up the Mistake to Mr Loggen soon as possible.
If you think that Gentn not quite satisfied with the 5 Guineas he requested you to tender him he begs you will add to it what you think will satisfy him.
I am Dear Sir
yr most obt h Servt
Wm Cheshire.’
