| Description | Two models of steam-engines were sent from Soho to London some years ago, in order to demonstrate in court that Bull’s pretensions to an improvement on Boulton & Watt’s principle were unfounded; but only one of these models (that of Bull’s engine) can now be found at Soho. Matthew Boulton has directed Cheshire to ask if Chippindall can give any information of the other model; Murdock recalls having seen them both at Chippindall’s house.
