M’r Cornelius Dixon
Dear Sir,
I received in due course your favr of the 17th inst, & lost no time in communicating to Mr Boulton the untoward circumstances which conspired to frustrate your intention of calling at Soho previous to your return home.
Mr Boulton is glad to hear that you are in a convalescent state & has directed me to send you his draft for One Hundred Pounds, which is inclosed,—the balance Mr Boulton wishes to remain ’till you, or your People, have an opportunity of inspecting the Work at House late Scales, which is certainly such as you cannot approve of, and most unquestionably does not arise from dampness.
In the mean time Mr Boulton is in hopes that his health may allow him to look over your accts which has been hitherto impracticable, & as your People are to be here so early as Feby he hopes this delay will be attended with no inconvenience to you.
Your statement of the monies received by yourself & people agrees with my Books.
When you acknowledge receipt of the inclosure be so good as mention if the Colours left here can be brought into use at the Hotel Job, or any other Work you may have to do in this neighbourhood, as I do not perceive that they are likely to be of any use here.
Wishing you perfect re-establishment of the invaluable Blessing of health
I remain Dear Sir
your ob’t hum Servt
Wm Cheshire

I am obliged by your attention to my little commission for Terra Sienna & will thank you to state the cost thereof
