DescriptionMakes detailed comments on the order for fruit-trees. Has not appointed a gardener. (Copy of an original in William Cheshire’s hand, signed by Boulton.)

Soho, November 6, 1810.
Sir,
I have before me your letter of the 4th instant. In reply, you will please to understand that my order for fruit trees is to run thus—
25 dwarf trained peaches, nectarines, and apricots. (N.B. In the list you have transmitted the apricots are omitted.)
25 standard do. do. do.
Total 50, as per list transmitted in my former letter.
6 dwarf trained plums (As per list transmitted in my former letter.)
6 rider trained do.
Total 12, as per list.
100 half standard apple trees grafted on Paradice stocks, as per list annexed.
(As the ground on which the apple trees are to be planted is not good, I wou’d not have them planted at a less distance than 4 yards.)
15 dwarf trained pears, as per list transmitted in my former letter.
7 dwarf trained cherries, do. do.
I acquiesce in the arrangements which you propose for the conveyance of the trees and the wages to be paid to the man who is to accompany them. The holes shall be prepared as you desire. The information which you have received in regard to the engagement of a gardener is incorrect. One was mentioned to Mr. Cheshire, but his qualifications did not appear to be exactly such as I wish them to be. When I plant my intended orchard, I shall certainly have regard to the offer of your services.
I am, sir, your obedient servant,
M. Robn. Boulton
