DescriptionThe contents of this file were formerly in a bundle labelled (26): Cornish Bills, Recepts &c.
The file is mentioned (under the title “Cornish Bills & Receipts”) in the Inventory of documents compiled by William Cheshire when he left Soho in 1812, where it is listed among the contents of Box 10. Under the arrangement made by Matthew Robinson Boulton it was probably put in Box D. I (“Household Books and Documents, 1753-1795”).

The documents are now arranged in five chronological sequences, as follows:
Inventories of the contents of Cosgarne House, 1781-1782. (1-2)
Bills of Matthew Boulton, 1784. (3-12)
Ledger of Household Expenses, 1784. (13)
Bills of Benjamin Morris, 1784. (14-21)
Bills of John Blythe, 1787. (22-25)

3-21 relate to Matthew Boulton’s journey to Cornwall, Jun.-Nov. 1784. Most of the bills of Benjamin Morris are vouchers to entries in the Household Ledger. 22-25 relate to Boulton’s journey to Cornwall, Sep.-Oct. 1787.
