Description The bundle is divided into sections as follows:

- 'Mr. Cadbury' containing correspondence with Mr. Paul Cadbury, Vice-Chairman of the Middlemore Homes Committee and many copies of letters sent or received by Paul Cadbury from other parties, copied to the Secretary for information. Includes typescript reports by Mr. Plenderleith on the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Emigration Scheme for Boys' and letters from Mr. Plenderleith to parties involved in the scheme. January 1928 - July 1930
- 'Overseas Settlement Office' containing correspondence between Mr. Plenderleith and the Overseas Settlement Committee regarding grant claims, returns to the Overseas Settlement Committee of children sailing to Canada and of after-care expenditure in 1928 and 1929 and copies of agreements between the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs and the Middlemore Homes for the provision of grants towards the cost of child migration and after-care. 22 February 1928 - 07 December 1929
- 'Canadian Emigration Agents' containing correspondence between Mr. Plenderleith and representatives of the Department if Immigration and Colonization for Canada and the High Commission for Canada. Also lists and medical examination details for named children being considered for emigration to Canada. The letters also include discussions regarding the opening ceremony of the New Middlemore Homes building. 03 January 1928 - 07 January 1931
- 'Child Emigration Society' containing correspondence with Gordon Green and other papers relating to the emigration from the Middlemore Homes of named children to Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia. Includes application forms for some children. 11 January 1928 - 12 September 1930
- 'Newcastle Scheme' containing correspondence between Mr. Plenderleith and Mr. Paul Cadbury regarding the possibility a municipal child migration training scheme, similar to the Newcastle Scheme, being established in Birmingham. Includes a copy of the First Annual Report of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Boys' Migration Training Hostel for 1927-1928. 06 March 1928 - 14 March 1928
