The Home was sold to Westhill Training College in 1961, however the file also includes correspondence relating to the possibility of sale of the building to the City of Birmingham Education department for use as a Special School.

Kenrick, Chairman of the Middlemore Homes Committee, Mr. Paul Cadbury, Treasurer of the Middlemore Homes, The University of Birmingham, Messrs. Chesshire, Gibson & Co., chartered surveyors, Mr. E.L. Russell, Chief Education Officer for the City of Birmingham, Messrs. Beale & Co., solicitors, the City of Birmingham Water department and Midland Gas Board.
The file also contains a typescript history of the negotiations regarding the sale of the homes, a copy of the conveyance of land and premises at Weoley Park Road, Selly Oak from The Trustees of the Middlemore Homes to J.A. Gillet, 21 June 1961 and a photograph of an oil painting by A. Talmage titled 'Green, Silver and Black' which was left in the Middlemore Home building after the sale on permanent loan to the Westhill Training College. |
