| Description | A Men's Adult School existed in Leominster from 1859 to 1930. The Women's Adult School opened in 1901, and from 1952 met in the Adult School Hall in Burgess Street. Records comprise:
1/ Papers and correspondence relating to Leominster Women's Adult School, Burgess Street, Leominster. These include papers relating to the purchase of the Burgess Street Mission Hall in 1952 for the use of the Adult School, its upkeep, rents, copy trust deeds, related Trustees matters and proposed sale of the building in the 1970s. Also includes papers relating to arrangements for the celebrations of the centenary of the adult school movement in Leominster, 13 June 1959.
2/ Papers and correspondence relating to Great Bridge Adult School, Fisher Street, West Bromwich. These include a photocopy of a 1929 trust deed, papers relating to a 1963 Compulsory Purchase Order, and papers relating to the sale of the Great Bridge Adult School premises. |
