| Description | The Class Committee dealt with the circulation of news from the Midland Adult School Union, reports of deaths and illnesses of members, matters arising relating to the Widows Fund, Athletics Club, Midland Adult School Union Musical Festival, the prize scheme, Benevolent Fund, Conferences, Beef Fund, election of officers, intervisitation, excursions, finance, arrangements for the First Half Hours (of classes), Thanksgiving Sundays and so on. From 1917 to February 1920, a General Purposes Committee which included the Finance, Class and Nominations for Officers Committees replaced the Class Committee. It consisted of the President and Deputy Superintendent of the Men's Early Morning School, a representative from each of the following Committees: Literature, Social Service, War Service, Temperance, Recreation and Entertainments, and Visiting Committees, and 4 teachers elected by the Teachers' Meeting. From March 1920, the General Purposes Committee reverted to being the Class Committee with various Sub-Committees.
